WorkLatch SMS/Messaging Terms
Effective Date: August 31, 2026
Last Updated: August 31, 2026
These SMS/Messaging Terms (“SMS Terms”) govern text messages sent or facilitated through the WorkLatch Rescue messaging service.
WorkLatch is operated as a Maryland sole proprietorship.
1. What WorkLatch Rescue Messaging Is
WorkLatch helps participating service businesses respond to certain unanswered or missed calls.
A missed call by itself does not automatically cause WorkLatch to send a text message.
For the current Rescue flow, an eligible Caller must affirmatively complete the applicable consent step before WorkLatch sends the automatic Rescue Link SMS.
2. WorkLatch and the Business Customer
WorkLatch facilitates and sends Rescue customer-care messages concerning the specific Business Customer identified in the applicable call and message.
“WorkLatch for [Business]” means the message is a WorkLatch-facilitated customer-care interaction concerning that business.
Receiving such a message does not enroll the Caller in a general WorkLatch consumer messaging program and does not constitute consent to messages concerning every business that uses WorkLatch.
3. How Consent Is Obtained
The Caller must affirmatively press 1 during the applicable Rescue voice interaction before WorkLatch may send the Rescue Link SMS.
A valid Press-1 interaction is intended to authorize:
one Rescue Link SMS associated with that specific call and that specific Business Customer.
Pressing 1 does not authorize:
- recurring WorkLatch messages;
- promotional or marketing messages;
- unrelated offers;
- messages from unrelated WorkLatch businesses;
- enrollment in a general WorkLatch SMS list; or
- unlimited future transactional messages.
4. Message Frequency
The current V1 Rescue flow is designed to send one automatic Rescue Link SMS per legitimate new Rescue Activation and valid consent event.
WorkLatch does not currently send automatic:
- intake reminders;
- completion confirmations;
- status updates;
- follow-up texts; or
- automatic second Rescue Links
based solely on the original Press-1 consent.
Recipient-initiated HELP or STOP interactions may result in separate compliance processing or responses.
5. Typical Rescue Message
A Rescue message may generally resemble:
WorkLatch for {Business}: Missed your call. Tell us: [secure Rescue Link] STOP=opt out; HELP=help
Exact wording may change for compliance, technical, usability, or service reasons without changing the basic one-time Rescue purpose.
6. Rescue Links
A Rescue Link may allow a Caller to submit:
- service or job information;
- description;
- ZIP code or typed service-location information;
- urgency;
- timing;
- preferred contact information;
- photos;
- videos; and
- other relevant details.
Submitting a Rescue intake is voluntary.
7. No Marketing Consent
The Rescue flow is intended for customer-care and service-request purposes, not promotional marketing.
Pressing 1 does not authorize unrelated marketing.
Business Customers may not treat Rescue consent as permission to enroll a Caller in unrelated promotional campaigns.
8. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply.
WorkLatch does not charge a Caller a separate WorkLatch fee merely for receiving the Rescue SMS.
The Caller’s wireless provider may impose ordinary messaging or data charges under the Caller’s service plan.
9. STOP and Opting Out
A Caller may reply STOP to request suppression of future WorkLatch Rescue messaging associated with the applicable Business Customer.
Under WorkLatch’s current application-level model, STOP is business-specific.
Wireless carriers, telecommunications providers, or messaging platforms may impose additional or broader opt-out restrictions beyond WorkLatch’s own suppression rules.
10. What STOP Does Not Do
STOP does not:
- create a Rescue Activation;
- consume Rescue usage;
- create a Rescue Link;
- enroll the Caller in another service; or
- authorize marketing.
WorkLatch may retain suppression or opt-out records as reasonably necessary to honor the request and maintain appropriate compliance evidence.
11. STOP Confirmation Messages
Depending on production telecommunications-provider configuration, an opt-out request may result in a confirmation generated by WorkLatch, a telecommunications provider, messaging platform, or carrier system.
WorkLatch does not currently promise which technical layer will generate a STOP confirmation.
WorkLatch intends to avoid intentionally sending duplicate opt-out confirmations where one compliant confirmation is sufficient.
12. HELP
A Caller may reply HELP for messaging assistance.
WorkLatch’s HELP handling is deterministic rather than an open-ended SMS chatbot.

13. START and UNSTOP
WorkLatch’s application architecture currently recognizes certain suppression-clearing keywords, including START and UNSTOP.
However, WorkLatch does not currently promise that sending START or UNSTOP will successfully restore messaging end-to-end.
Carrier and provider requirements may apply.
14. Carrier and Provider Restrictions
Carriers and messaging providers may filter or block messages, apply additional suppression, delay delivery, reject traffic, impose content or use restrictions, change routing behavior, or experience outages.
WorkLatch cannot guarantee third-party telecommunications behavior.
15. No Guaranteed Delivery
WorkLatch does not guarantee that any SMS will be transmitted successfully, accepted by a carrier, arrive immediately, avoid filtering, be read, or remain accessible indefinitely.
This does not excuse failures caused by WorkLatch’s own systems or conduct.
16. Caller Responsibilities
Callers may not use WorkLatch messaging functionality to:
- impersonate another person;
- interfere with telecommunications systems;
- send malicious content;
- attack WorkLatch;
- bypass suppression or security controls;
- generate fraudulent Rescue activity; or
- engage in unlawful conduct.
17. Business Customer Responsibilities
Business Customers must comply with applicable telecommunications, privacy, consumer-protection, marketing, and messaging laws and provider requirements.
They may not bypass Press-1 consent, circumvent suppression, send unlawful or unsolicited messages, use Rescue consent as marketing consent, or instruct WorkLatch to send unlawful communications.
18. Mobile Information and SMS Consent Privacy
WorkLatch does not sell or share mobile information, telephone numbers, SMS opt-in information, or SMS consent information with third parties for those third parties’ promotional or marketing purposes.
Necessary telecommunications, carrier, hosting, infrastructure, security, and compliance providers may process information where reasonably necessary to operate the Rescue messaging service.
19. Messaging Records
WorkLatch may retain:
- Caller telephone numbers;
- applicable WorkLatch numbers;
- Business Customer identifiers;
- consent state, type, and timestamps;
- call or Rescue identifiers;
- provider message identifiers;
- delivery status;
- HELP interactions;
- STOP or suppression state;
- provider events;
- timestamps; and
- relevant security or abuse records.
WorkLatch’s current Rescue voice flow does not record Caller audio and does not create a transcript.
20. Retention
WorkLatch retains messaging information for as long as reasonably necessary for service operation, honoring opt-outs, consent evidence, telecommunications compliance, fraud and abuse prevention, security, disputes, legal claims, agreement enforcement, and legal obligations.
No universal fixed messaging-retention period is currently promised.
21. Changes to Messaging
WorkLatch may modify messaging systems, providers, message wording, or technical implementation.
WorkLatch will not treat current one-time Rescue consent as permission for a materially broader recurring or marketing messaging program without separately evaluating the applicable consent and disclosure requirements.
22. Changes to These SMS Terms
These SMS Terms may be updated as the Service, provider rules, telecommunications requirements, law, or practices change.
Changes apply prospectively according to their stated effective date.
